In a video interview with the website […]

While the former test sought both “achievement” and a “challenge,” this new tests mere […]

Hanna: Heading to the Grand Strand?
September 3, 2008 – 10:06 am
The 11 a.m. update from the National Weather Service has inched the landfall farther up the coast, possibly as far north as Myrtle Beach. And it won’t hit the shores until early Saturday morning. The questions are still out there, so don’t go raiding the hurricane provisions just yet. The storm will likely still have […]
Hanna: Mayor Preparing Staff, Residents For Storm
September 2, 2008 – 3:35 pm
Charleston Mayor Joe Riley has been in contact with some residents and staff. The city has been monitoring Hanna since the weekend and the mayor told folks today not to get complacent, says spokeswoman Barbara Vaughn. Riley noted that the winds over the peninsula during the devastating Hurricane Hugo were thought to be Category 1. […]
Hanna: Charleston Prepares to Prepare
September 2, 2008 – 1:45 pm
Charleston County will go to Opcon 3 at 3 p.m., which is to say they have opened the citizen information phone lines (202-7100) and they’ll be coordinating this afternoon with the organizations that would man hurricane shelters. The county’s storm HQ will go to 24 hours beginning Wednesday morning and some evacuation announcements could come […]
McCain Ad: The Redemption of Chris Dodd
September 2, 2008 – 12:37 pm
Totally ineffective, but telling. Since the “inexperienced” line is out the window, the McCain campaign is taking a stab at “Washington insider.” I’m dizzy. Really. Dizzy.
What’s even more comical is the parade of old white guys that no reasonable undecided voter could possibly recognize, including former Democratic presidential candidate Chris Dodd, who famously used a […]
Well, I’ll Say This For Sarah Palin …
September 2, 2008 – 11:34 am
As the questions mount (of which, her daughters pregnancy plays only a minor role as part of the broader debate over abstinence education), I’m much more interested in what she’ll have to say Wednesday night than I was when she was announced as the running mate on Friday.
Sanford Tires of Leading State
September 2, 2008 – 11:09 am
While Sanford may not be tired of politics, today’s State story makes it clear that he’s tired of being a politician.
Sanford indicated he looked forward to continue fighting for the same issues he has pursued as governor: land conservation, lower taxes and limiting government spending.
In some ways, he said, he might be more effective as […]
