Graham Supports Obama Social Security Plan?
August 30, 2008 – 9:32 am
Stumbled on this on Obama’s website.
Despite the many smears of his opponents, Obama does not support uncapping the full payroll tax of 12.4 percent rate. Instead, he is considering plans that would ask those making over $250,000 to pay in the range of 2 to 4 percent more in total (combined employer and employee). This […]
Sanford Gets Convention Time Monday
August 29, 2008 – 3:46 pm
By default:
Gov. Mark Sanford will speak at the Republican National Convention Monday, filling in for Texas Gov. Rick Perry who will be watching the approach of Tropical Storm Gustav.
I’ll take odds he’s figured out a difference between McCain and Bush on economic policies.
Lady’s Night
August 29, 2008 – 3:38 pm
Joe Klein hits it just right.
Ok. I’m still trying to come to terms with this. I wonder about the following:
–Does the McCain campaign actually think that Hillary supporters will be lured to the ticket by a militant pro-lifer who also believes in the teaching of intelligent design?
–Palin exploded her state’s coffers by imposing a windfall […]
Pollster: S.C. “Leaning” Republican?!
August 29, 2008 – 12:50 pm
Wasting a few minutes, I thought I’d check out Pollster.com and see what was going on. Imagine my shock (really, shock), when I looked at the opening map and found that South Carolina was in the light red category. For those of you who thought this country was divided and various shades of khaki, light […]
Linda Ketner’s First TV Spot
August 29, 2008 – 10:28 am
Linda Ketner’s first campaign spot is on YouTube. The style reminds me a little of an old DeMint spot that he did with his daughters.
Clyburn Weighs in On Palin
August 29, 2008 – 10:19 am
To Time:
Rep. Clyburn calls the Palin choice “very risky,” and equates the choice to Dan Quayle.
“Being thrust on a national stage like that could be very tough.”
“I just think that it is very risky for McCain to do this, but it may be all he has left.”
McCain’s Pick: Lady’s Night?
August 29, 2008 – 9:27 am
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is rumored to be in Ohio ready to take the stage with McCain as his Veep choice. If it’s true, I’m going to guess we’ll see a lot of “bold choice” thrown around.
Let’s hope somebody sneaks “reckless” in there. It is, after all, the argument McCain has thrown at Obama.
Jill Hazelbaker, […]
Inez Starts a Love Train
August 28, 2008 – 9:33 am
Potential gubernatorial candidate Inez Tenenbaum was caught shaking her grove thing at the Democratic National Convention last night after Sen. Hillary Clinton called an end to the candidate voting and officially unified the party behind Barack Obama.
Catch a glimpse of Inez at the 40 second mark. If it doesn’t work, click here.
Five Links: Obama Speaking, McCain Protecting, Guns Leaking, Gustav Building, Kiawah Fighting
August 28, 2008 – 7:55 am
• Obama’s big night.
A “call on Americans to come together to change the course of our nation.”
• John McCain’s big thing.
“Protect Yourself From John McCain.”
• Guns and Roses big leak.
“Significant financial loss for the rock band.”
• Gustav’s big plans.Â
“Expected to become a hurricane later today.”
• Kiawah council’s big fight.Â
“I wouldn’t build a doghouse there.”
Bob Barr to visit Charleston Sept. 30
August 27, 2008 – 2:17 pm
The Libertarian candidate, who’s expected to cause a stir in a couple of swing states, will stop by this not-so-swing state next month. He’ll be speaking to the Rotary Club of Charleston, according to the Associated Press. While the Rotary sounds excited to see him, I’d bet some more partisan folks would rather Barr spent […]
